Hi,
we'll discuss this on Thursday and/or Friday. It is also possible that
geometrical misalignment and wrong field map partially compensated in the
first place. Now that the BLAST field is handled more correctly, makes it
only more important or apparent to also handle the wire chamber geometry
correctly. The presently observed magnitude of "kinematic corrections" is
certainly not the last word. After applying "effective" corrections, the
new crunch is as good or as bad as the old one, if the geometry isn't
under control yet. Note that only the new crunch has been carried out for
the entire 2004 data, while the old one consists of multiple versions.
The increased angle offset is worrysome though, and it would be
interesting to see if the difference of the angle offset between old and
new crunch is entirely due to the field map, or if other changes such as
t2d etc. can be made responsible.
With v3_4_14/lrn, Chi's t2d calib was used. If someone can let me know how
to switch to the previous t2d (by Aaron?) version, I can do a quick lrd
recrunch of the 2004 hydrogen data 12144-13266 before Thursday.
Best regards,
Michael
