Dear friends,
I put the latest compton results and a summary table on the web at:
http://blast02.lns.mit.edu/PRIVATE_RESULTS/USEFUL/COMPTON/
The new additions are:
compton_all.eps - All compton data since November 2003
compton_2003.eps - November-December 2003 data
compton_2004.eps - 2004 data
compton_2005.eps - 2005 data
compton.dat - Summary table: index1 index2 polarization error date_i date_f fill_i fill_f run_i run_f
compton.dat includes a tabulated data shown in figure
compton_all.eps, everything we have.

If you need a weighted average over a run number range, fill
number range or a date window you can use a small program
located in /home/daq/blast/pro2004/compton3/database/
(Source code is in /home/blast/akdogan/polar_bear/src/compton_blast)
It is called "compton_db_extract" Give "compton_db_extract -h"
command for the usage information.
Example:
Enter:
./compton_db_extract -g -m -ti 2005-01-01 -tf 2005-05-31
The output:
ComptonDB: Using file: A_result.root
ComptonDB: 36989 fill entries are found.
ComptonDB: Database covers fill-5944 (2003-11-29) --> fill-47105 (2005-05-30)
ComptonDB: Initilization complete
Average polarization = 0.6489 +- 0.0005 (sys) +- 0.0400 (sys)
Average shown here is extracted using the data in the date window
given from the command prompt. This will also make a plot of the
selected data ("-g" option).
Let me know if you have any questions or other specific needs
regarding the Compton analysis.
Regards,
Taylan
