Running ABS deuterium. Some trouble with the longitudinal holding field
tripping off due to a flow interlock -- water surge tank has been filled,
air bled out of long.h.f. cooling lines, flow switch checked; flow switch
now jumpered. Water flow appears fine, but if it ceases, power supply will
trip off due to a klixon monitoring the coil temperature.
Note -- if the BLAST or holding fields trip off, Genya has a cycling
procedure for the ABS transition magnets so they get set properly (now that
we set the SFT/WFT only by current, not by measured field). On the ABS
yellow screen, type 666 (enter) to stop the current sequence, then type 3
(enter) to start the CYCLE3 sequence again. Call Genya with questions or
problems.
The run plan is to continue taking polarized deuterium data. Please
perform all the usual run-by-run checks (including monitoring the
compression tube pressure, to be sure the transitions are working
properly). Keep pol.log and RUNLIST-D2.4 up to date.
There will be a short South Hall access tomorrow to change out the wire
chamber helium bottles.
