This week we shortened ramping time for HV, and gained about 10% in
data taking
efficiency. Next step would be to ramp HV and move slits at the same
time, or with
some stagger. We've got to watch how detectors will take it.
We also found that readings of the holding field Hall probe depend
on the ring current.
I suppose, it is beam RF pick-up on the sensor. Readings between the
fills should be the
most accurate... still it might be a good idea to shield the probe when
we replace it (now
only 1 out of 3 axes still works).
I'll be out of town this weekend; Bill Franklin graciously
volunteered to conduct run
coordinating during my absence; thanks Bill !
