a shift plagued with problems.

started off taking polarized deuterium. around 19:00, the ABS RF dissociator switched off all on its own. luckily, it was noticed after only a couple of minutes. an access to the South Hall (two, acutally) was needed to correctly recover the RF power supply.

took some more polarized deuterium runs. then coda decided to go through multiple runs where only epics events were being recorded.

later on, once everything was back and running, the HV developed a broken pipe. however, the gui kept raising and lowering HV normally, and thus a full run was lost. an alarm on this would be useful...

around 11:00, switched to an empty target. i went to the ABS nozzle temperature macro and changed the nozzle temperature set point from 70K to 300K. however, when i next checked out the nozzle and cell temperature (via dblast14 about an hour later), the nozzle temperature was around 90K while the cell temperature had jumped up to 150K (and ligit to 10^-6). i don't understand why adjusting the nozzle temperature set point somehow caused the cell temperature to rise so much. needless to say, the beam is really horrible right now with such cell temperatures.

now, the nozzle temperature set point has been set back to 70K (in the hopes that this will drop the cell temperature). i haven't touched the cell temperature set point at all.
