Yes this is very disturbing. I guess my check was far too cursory! I
apologize for this. I think the solution is to check timing periodically
(once a shift? a week??) If the timing shifts, redo the calibration and
check in a new blast.sc_cal and crunch with that. I think this may cause
headaches (or worse), but is there another way to address the problem?
