Last night Aaron made a series of measurements with different slit
settings to see if there was any affect on the trigger rates. The runs
were around 100k events. Analysis simply looked at the fraction of the
total for each trigger type. Results are given below in percent.
Run Change in Slits Trigger 1 Trigger 2 Trigger 3 Trigger 7
5262 no change 17.2 34.5 9.3
38.2
5264 L -7 -> -2.5 17.6 34.1 9.1
37.5
5266 R 10 -> 7.5 17.6 32.6 10.9
38.0
5269 T 3.1 -> 1.3 17.2 35.8 6.6
39.8
5270 B -3.1 -> -2.05 17.2 35.2 9.4
37.5
Conclusion is that the changes are small at best. Right slit may
affect triggers 2 and 3 and top slit has a larger affect on trigger 3
but nothing that indicates a serious mis-tuning of the slits which
produces excess trigger rates.
Studies with bumps in the beam will be done today.
