The SH was closed again (see previous shift's report) around 4:30 PM and
around 5:30 PM the beam was being tuned.
Around 6 PM the BLAST power supply tripped once again. We used the access
to swap the WC helium six pack, following Doug's instructions.
Townsend looked into the BLAST power supply problem...
The isobutane was showing 106 on the scale, so it was not swapped (it
would have been, had it been under 100).
Around 7:30 PM the epics control was used to open the valves and set the
helium rate.
8:55 PM - we started run 705. Compton has to be run manually, stopped
before autofill and started right after autofill... needs a lot of care!
Under present conditions, if Compton is left running during ring fill, the
ioc will crash and require reboot.
Compton polarimeter: measured -88 +/- 6% for one helicity state in one
fill. Measured +61 +/- 11% for opposite state.
By the end of the shift we had runs 705, 707, 708 taken.
We had had an access to D-tunnel: corrected wiring from LCC0 (wrong cable
was attached). Now scalers working fine. Adjusted offset on LCC0 (pedestal
should be on scale now - Tancredi suggested this).
The other boxes should be also checked.
We tried crunching runs 705 and 707.
New lrn.C writes lr-0.root all the time. It is supposed to write
lr-RUN#.root... now, if you do not move the .root file,
it will be overwritten, nullifying the previous crunch.
Besides, looking into the .root file with show_ep_asym.C, we got errors.
This did not happened for runs crunched with old lrn.C... we checked.
This needs to be fixed, or no data can be crunched!
