This shift was devoted to the ABS and beam development, and the first issue was that the O2 set point flow rate and readout are different. The O2 flow rate was checked in the hall, and the readout is only 1/3 of the actual flow rate. The next issue was with the ATK controller, which preventing impedance matching of the dissociator. Most likely the problem is a flaky cable, and remains unresolved.
While waiting for Ernie Ihloff to call back about the ATK controller we continued with the detector run plan. We had the beam with the BLAST field turned on from 0300 to 0530 and tuned the horizontal beam bump at the injection septum. The normalized rates were larger than page 58 of log book #5 and there was a minumum at about -1.0mm with PHYS2/I = 372 kHz/mA and PHYS3/I = 460 kHz/mA.
There is a problem with the display of the unpolarized gas feed system. The valve V11 is permanently closed on the diplay. The valve was verified to be working by a hall access.
Vitaliy took some data on the ABS finaly. One of the channels on the matching network still does
not work.
