Hi!
Attached are PS files with results from the recent energy loss study.
I put in the entrance and exit windows of the wire chambers, as well as
the start counter (which in Monte Carlo is mirrored to the other sector,
too - this should not be a problem, it is even more conservative for the
energy loss study).
I was looking at coincidence events and we can see the most forward
electrons (corresponding to the lowest energy protons) do not pass the
coincidence trigger - and that is because of the proton energy loss!
The units for energy loss in the scintillators are MeV (assuming I did not
mess up the GEANT conversion from ADC channels - I really think I got it
right).
The file had 100K events, beam energy 850 MeV, theta between 10 and 90,
phi between -22.5 and 22.5
Enjoy!
Adrian
